Disney's Island Tower Permit Raises Hopes for Resort Upgrades
Disney has filed a new construction permit at the Island Tower of its Polynesian Villas & Bungalows resort, sparking speculation about upcoming changes. The permit lists Faden Builders as the contractor and was submitted by Walt Disney Imagineering.
The Island Tower, which opened in December 2024 on the former site of the Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show at Luau Cove, features various room categories including Duo Studios, Deluxe Studios, One-Bedroom Villas, Two-Bedroom Villas, and Two-Bedroom Penthouse Villas.
The tower's design incorporates Polynesian wayfinding elements, while its amenities include the Wailulu Bar & Grill poolside dining spot, Cove Pool with a sandy beach courtyard, and Moana's Voyage Splash Area for younger guests.
