Disney's Lakeshore Lodge: New Resort Rises on Bay Lake
A new Disney resort is taking shape in Florida, and it's going to be a game-changer for theme park fans. The Walt Disney World Resort, previously known as Reflections, A Disney Lakeside Lodge, has been renamed to Disney's Lakeshore Lodge and is making rapid progress on the shores of Bay Lake.
A recent aerial photography session by bioreconstruct captured the full construction site, with three photos focusing on pool construction at The Wetlands and Cypress Point. The resort is scheduled to open on July 1, 2027.
The name change from Disney Lakeshore Lodge to Disney's Lakeshore Lodge may seem minor, but it brings the resort in line with Disney's long-standing naming convention. Other resorts, such as Disney's Contemporary Resort and Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, follow a similar pattern.
Disney's Lakeshore Lodge will feature 967 rooms, inspired by Walt Disney's love of nature. The lobby includes a fiberoptic 'river' set into the floor and a blown-glass sculpture inspired by 'Colors of the Wind.' Room types will range from compact studios to one- and two-bedroom Lake Houses along the shoreline.
The resort's recreation areas, including Lakeshore Lagoon, a zero-entry pool with a spiral waterslide, and Daydream River lazy river, are also taking shape. Cypress Point offers a quieter secondary pool with a view of the nightly fireworks.
