Disney's Lakeshore Lodge to Open in Magic Kingdom Area in 2027

Walt Disney World has announced that its newest resort, Disney's Lakeshore Lodge, will open on July 1, 2027. The hotel will be located along Bay Lake in the Magic Kingdom resort area and feature 967 rooms, including studios, villas, and freestanding waterfront Lake Houses.

The resort's design will draw inspiration from various Disney films, such as 'Bambi', 'Brother Bear', 'Encanto', 'Fantasia', and 'Pocahontas'. Disney Vacation Club members can make early rental reservations starting October 6, followed by Walt Disney World annual passholders on October 7 and the general public on October 8.

Lakeshore Lodge will be built on the former site of Disney's River Country water park, which closed in 2001. The resort will offer a range of room types, from duo studios for two guests to three-bedroom grand villas that can accommodate up to 12 people. Some rooms will have views of Magic Kingdom fireworks.

The property will feature three dining locations: Moonglade, a waterfront table-service restaurant; Bay Lake Provisions, an all-day marketplace; and Paint Out Point Bar & Grill near the pool. Other planned amenities include a zero-entry pool, waterslide, lazy river, children's play areas, and a lounge overlooking Bay Lake.
