Disney's Magic Kingdom Restricts Access During Busy Fall Season

The Magic Kingdom theme park at Walt Disney World is undergoing operational changes in response to increased attendance and hard-ticketed events. As part of its fall season, Disney has restricted access to the park for regular guests during Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party dates.

This year's Halloween party will take place on 29 dates between August 1 and October 31, with a total of 13 events scheduled for September. On these dates, the Magic Kingdom will close to regular visitors at 6 p.m., allowing only those with tickets to experience the exclusive Halloween-themed entertainment.

However, Disney is making adjustments to ensure that non-Halloween party guests still have opportunities to visit the park. For example, on September 12, a non-party date, Magic Kingdom will open at 8 a.m. and stay open until 11 p.m., giving visitors almost 16 hours to explore the park.

Disney's CEO Josh D'Amaro has confirmed that attendance at the domestic theme parks has been higher than expected this year, with revenue skyrocketing due to increased ticket prices and premium extras like Lightning Lane passes. As a result, Disney is adapting its operations to balance the needs of both party-goers and regular visitors.
