Disney's Monstropolis Gets a Glimpse into its Immersive Future

The Monstropolis Preview Center at Disney's Hollywood Studios has been updated to include new concept art for the upcoming land. The artwork showcases the Glob Theater lobby, which will be the reimagined MuppetVision 3D theater. The lobby features blue walls, red curtains, and chandeliers with eye motifs. A Monster Concessions stand is also visible in the background, although it's unlikely to serve actual snacks.

The Glob Theater will host Welcome to Monstropolis! With Sulley & Mike, a show that will invite guests into the world of Monsters, Inc. The theater's marquee has been designed with a light-up display, adding to the overall immersive experience. Other concept art pieces on display include the land's entrance, Harryhausen's interior, and the Welcome to Monstropolis show.

The preview center also features maquettes of monstrous creatures that will inhabit the land, including a monster pigeon, splitting hare, and monster squirrel. These maquettes were created in collaboration with Pixar to bring the unique wildlife of Monstropolis to life. The land is set to open in phases starting from 2027.
