Disney's Monstropolis Land May Need a Second Entrance

The highly anticipated Monsters, Inc. Monstropolis land at Hollywood Studios is set to open in 2027, but it may not be as easy for visitors to access with a new shortcut. The land will feature several attractions, including The Glob Theater and its 'Welcome to Monstropolis' show, hosted by Mike and Sulley. However, the main attraction - the door coaster - won't be ready at opening time.

Disney's concept art and construction photos show only one entrance to the land, which is due to geography constraints. The Muppet Courtyard area has been taken over for Monstropolis, leaving it 'locked in' on three sides. A potential second entrance could go behind Star Tours or near Galaxy's Edge, but both options have their own issues.

Adding a new pathway behind Star Tours would require rearranging backstage support areas, while an entrance connecting Monstropolis to Galaxy's Edge would need to be located near the Rise of the Resistance forest/queue area, which could make it difficult to create a thematic transition. Disney fans are hoping for a second entrance shortcut to mitigate crowds.
