The fall season is underway at Walt Disney World, bringing pumpkin decorations to Main Street, U.S.A., and the return of Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at Magic Kingdom. For years, this separately ticketed after-hours event has been one of Disney's most popular seasonal offerings, attracting guests eager to experience the Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular, Mickey's Boo-to-You Halloween Parade, Disney's Not-So-Spooky Spectacular fireworks, trick-or-treating, and exclusive character appearances.

This year, however, an unusual development has taken place. On August 30, tickets for the evening's Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party were still available through Disney's official ticketing system, according to BlogMickey. This presented a rare opportunity for guests already visiting Walt Disney World to attend the Halloween event at the last minute.

The situation raises questions about the changing demand for Disney's premium seasonal events, particularly as ticket prices continue to rise. Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is not an inexpensive addition to a Walt Disney World vacation, with prices ranging from $119 for the least expensive nights to $229 for Halloween night. For a family of four, the party alone can cost hundreds of dollars before taxes, transportation, food, merchandise, or other vacation expenses are considered.
