Disney's Project Amazon: A New Counter-Service Restaurant for BoardWalk

Walt Disney World has been teasing a new counter-service restaurant at its BoardWalk location since June 2026, but little information has been released about the project. The restaurant, codenamed 'Project Amazon,' is set to replace Big River Grille & Brewing Works, which closed in January 2024.

According to Disney Tourist Blog, the new restaurant will be located on the former site of Big River and is expected to open soon. However, no official opening date has been announced. The blog also reports that the restaurant will have a mixed-use concept, with both indoor and outdoor seating areas offering views of Crescent Lake.

The blog's authors imagine eight different concepts for the new restaurant, ranging from a sports bar and grill to an international food court themed after the Adventurers Club. They argue that Disney should aim high and create a unique experience that will draw guests from all around the BoardWalk.
