Disney's Relaxed Backpack Policy Causes Friction Among Visitors
Backpack restrictions in Walt Disney World's theme parks have been relaxed in recent years, but some visitors claim it's causing problems. In particular, guests wearing large backpacks can inadvertently block others' views or even collide with them when moving around enclosed spaces like the Haunted Mansion.
The author of a recent blog post on wdwinfo.com has shared their own experience with this issue and suggests that Disney may need to reconsider its current policy. According to the guidelines, guests are allowed to bring backpacks up to 24 inches long by 15 inches wide by 18 inches high. However, some visitors have been seen carrying bags that exceed these dimensions.
The author notes that while most people are not trying to inconvenience others, oversized bags can create a bigger footprint in crowded areas. They propose that Disney could revisit its backpack size restrictions or even consider providing lockers for guests to store their belongings while enjoying attractions.
