Disney's Secret Army of Overnight Decorators

Disney's Halloween decorations at Walt Disney World are not as magical as they seem. Behind the scenes, nearly 80 cast members work overnight to transform the parks from one holiday season to the next.

The Holiday Services team works throughout the year to prepare and install decorations for each holiday. For Halloween 2026, they spent several weeks installing autumn decorations at Magic Kingdom and Disney Springs after dark.

Jorge, a decorator with 10 years of experience, credits good communication and organization for the team's ability to complete such large transformations overnight. He explained that his team is 'amazing' and has great leadership.

One of Jorge's projects was transforming Jock Lindsey's Hangar Bar in Disney Springs into a Halloween-themed location. Instead of creating a conventional Halloween banner, they treated every letter as an individual character, giving each one its own personality and story to tell.
