The coaster didn't operate on August 31 or September 1, and as of September 2, it was still unavailable. Disney hasn't publicly explained what's causing the extended downtime.

The absence of Slinky Dog Dash can have consequences across Hollywood Studios, particularly in terms of crowd distribution. When guests can't ride the coaster, they tend to move to other attractions such as Toy Story Mania!, Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway, or The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror.
