Disney's Slinky Dog Dash Reopens After Extended Downtime

Slinky Dog Dash, a popular roller coaster at Disney's Hollywood Studios, has been plagued by reliability issues. The attraction was closed for over four days in September 2026 due to technical difficulties. It reopened briefly on September 3 but shut down again before reopening permanently on September 4.

The ride experienced downtime nearly every day starting August 19 and accelerated towards the end of the month, with a 9-hour closure on August 29. On August 30, it broke down around 6 pm and remained closed through the next two days. The attraction reopened for Early Entry on September 3 but shut down minutes before rope drop.

The ride's wait times are expected to worsen due to pent-up demand and a backlog of guests who had Lightning Lane reservations. The attraction has been one of the downtime-prone attractions at Walt Disney World for years, rivaling Test Track for unreliability.
