Disney's Toy Story Land Gets a Major Update with the Addition of Lilypad
Disney's Toy Story Land at Hollywood Studios has undergone a significant change. A larger-than-life tablet, Lilypad, has been installed outside Alien Swirling Saucers in the land. This is part of an attraction update that debuts on September 25.
The tablet, which will be active soon, displays the interface 'The Pond' and will eventually play a key role in the ride experience. Lilypad is voiced by Greta Lee and has been installed ahead of its official debut, which coincides with the release of Toy Story 5 on Disney+ two days later.
The addition of Lilypad raises questions about the land's theme and storytelling. The original premise of Toy Story Land was that guests were shrunk to the size of toys standing in Andy's backyard. However, since Lilypad is a character from the 2026 film, it does not fit within this concept.
This change has significant implications for the future of Toy Story Land. It no longer needs to be locked in the past, and characters who were not part of Andy's childhood can now be included. This means that Bo Peep, a character from the original films, could potentially return to the land.
