Disney's Tropical Americas Land Takes Shape with New Attractions and Theming

Tropical Americas at Walt Disney World is making rapid progress, with several new attractions and lands taking shape. The Indiana Jones ride is one of the most notable developments, featuring a Maya temple facade that has started to take shape in front of the attraction. The Dino Institute signage remains visible on the wall behind the facade, but it's likely to be obscured by theming elements soon.

The official name for the ride was recently revealed as Indiana Jones and the Myth of the Jade Serpent, which will feature Harrison Ford's actual likeness in an animatronic figure. The ride takes place in the 1950s, after the events of the original trilogy but before Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull.

In addition to the Indiana Jones ride, work is underway on a new Encanto-themed area, featuring a play area that ties into the temple ruins theme found nearby. Framing has been erected for the 'Casita' house in front of the new Encanto ride, which will be visible from afar and help block the large ride building behind it.

The carousel is also taking shape, with roofing installed on top of the main structure and framing for the queue's walls going up. The official name for the carousel was revealed as El Carrusel de los Animalitos, featuring 22 carved animal shapes for seating.
