Beloved Ohio Man Chris 'Grizzly' Sweeney Passes Away
Christopher L. 'Chris Grizzly' Sweeney passed away on September 10, 2026, at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio. He was 75 years old.
Born on March 8, 1951, in Celina, Ohio, to John Sweeney Sr. and Mable (Hooper) Sweeney, Chris had a kind and caring personality that earned him many friends and admirers.
He is survived by his daughters, Nikki Sweeney and Joy Sweeney, both of Celina; his brother, John (Lynn) Sweeney of Celina; his grandchildren, Layla Elokda, Mathew Griswold, Waylan Griswold, and Aaron Kinstle; and two great-grandchildren.
A gathering of friends and family will be held on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Cisco Funeral Home in Celina. A memorial service will begin at 2:00 p.m., with Pastor Simon Young officiating.
