DOD, Boeing, RTX Sign Framework Agreements for SM-3 Interceptor Production Boost

The US Department of Defense has signed seven-year framework agreements with Boeing and Raytheon Technologies (RTX) to boost production of critical hardware for SM-3 Block IB and IIA interceptors.

Under the agreements, Boeing will expand production of avionics and ejector assemblies used in SM-3 interceptors. The hardware supports precise missile intercepts outside Earth's atmosphere.

The SM-3 program serves as the backbone of US sea-based missile defense operations. Boeing, the DoD, and Raytheon plan to ramp up component production ahead of a contract. The companies are also negotiating a multi-year award under the framework.
