Dow Falls 100 Points as General Mills Beats Earnings Expectations

U.S. stocks began Wednesday's trading session lower, with the Dow Jones index falling around 100 points.

The Dow traded down 0.19% to 51,764.17, while the NASDAQ dipped 0.29% to 27,164.38 and the S&P 500 fell 0.15% to 7,752.70.

Among leading sectors, energy shares rose by 0.9%, but utilities stocks declined 1% in trading on Wednesday.
