Dow Jones Falls Amid Mixed Market Close
U.S. stock markets closed mixed on Tuesday, as gains in certain sectors lifted shares while losses in others weighed them down.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average declined 0.36%, with Amgen Inc. leading the pack with a 4.34% increase to $410.21 per share. Home Depot Inc. and 3M Company also saw significant gains, rising 2.76% and 2.62% respectively.
However, some notable losers included Cisco Systems Inc., which dropped 4.50% to $106.44, JPMorgan Chase & Co., down 3.42% at $340.00, and American Express Company, shedding 2.72% to $305.07.
The S&P 500 saw its biggest gainers in Monolithic Power Systems Inc., Celanese Corporation, and Lennar Corporation, which rose 8.06%, 6.89%, and 6.38% respectively.
