Dow Jones Falls as U.S. Stocks Decline Amid Sector-Wide Losses
U.S. stocks ended lower on Wednesday, weighed down by losses in key sectors such as Utilities, Consumer Services, and Technology.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average led the declines, falling 0.68%, while the S&P 500 lost 0.75% and the NASDAQ Composite dropped 1.13%.
Despite some bright spots, including a surge in CrowdStrike Holdings Inc., which rose to all-time highs, many stocks struggled. McDonald's Corporation fell to three-year lows, Home Depot Inc. hit 52-week lows, and Adagio Medical Holdings Inc. and Hennessy Capital Investment Corp VII dropped to all-time lows.
In the commodities market, gold futures declined by 1.25% to $4,321.90 per troy ounce, while oil prices rose. The EUR/USD exchange rate fell 0.55%, and the USD/JPY rate gained 0.62%.
