Dow Jones Rebounds on Lower Oil Prices and Strong Tech Gains
The Dow Jones Industrial Average (.DJI) rose by 509.19 points on Friday, closing at 52,573.29, a 0.98% increase.
This came after a mostly in-line inflation report and lower oil prices, which helped to boost the market. The Nasdaq Composite Index (.IXIC.US) also gained 251.31 points (0.96%) to 26,320.20.
The Dow-30, Nasdaq Composite, and S&P 500 all rose by about 1% on Friday, snapping four-session losing streaks. This was largely driven by the gains in tech stocks such as Dell, HPE, Apple, and others.
