Dow Jumps 100 Points as Markets Bounce Back from Downturn
US stocks traded mostly higher on Friday, with the Dow Jones index gaining around 100 points.
The Dow rose to 53,673.21, a 0.19% increase from Thursday's closing price, while the NASDAQ slipped 0.01% to 26,541.21.
The S&P 500 also saw gains, increasing by 0.09% to 7,737.82.
Communication services shares led the way with a 1.1% jump on Friday.
However, information technology stocks fell by 0.3% in trading on Friday.
The Chicago Business Barometer dipped to 47.1 in August from 57.6 in the previous month and missed market estimates of 58.3.
