Dow Surges 300 Points as Tech Stocks Rally Amid Lower Treasury Yields
The US stock market indices continued their upward trend on September 17, with the Dow Jones leading the gains. The Dow Jones surged by 299.66 points or 0.58% to reach 51,761.56, while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq climbed 79.56 points or 1.05% and 425.13 points or 1.64%, respectively.
Intel led the gains among major Dow stocks, jumping by 8.04% to $109.26, followed closely by Nvidia, which rose 2.65% to $219.56. Amazon and Caterpillar also posted significant gains of 2.40% and 2.57%, respectively.
The rally was driven by semiconductor and technology stocks, with the Nasdaq leading the charge. Treasury yields fell, while volatility eased, providing a favorable backdrop for equities.
