Dow Surges 400 Points as Investors Flock to AI Stocks

The stock market closed Friday on an upswing due to gains in AI-related stocks and Microsoft's strong performance. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose by 469.07 points, or 0.91%, to 51,819.05.

Microsoft saw significant growth after introducing new capabilities for its Copilot app, including a coding tool and an always-on AI agent. This development helped the company's stock rise. Other tech giants like Akamai Technologies and Qualcomm also gained due to cloud services deals and their focus on artificial intelligence.

The S&P 500 increased by 37.96 points, or 0.49%, to 7,742.09 points. The Nasdaq Composite rose by 125.51 points, or 0.47%, to 27,064.88.
