Dow Weighs Exit from Saudi Aramco Venture Amid Market Volatility
Dow Inc.'s stock is trading modestly higher on September 9, 2026, as reports emerge that the company may exit its joint venture with Saudi Aramco.
The USD 20 billion chemicals venture has been a major downstream project for both companies and represents one of Dow's largest investments in the Middle East. An exit from this investment would be a significant strategic move for Dow, reducing its exposure to commodity petrochemicals and freeing up capital for higher-margin specialties.
In its latest quarterly results for the second quarter of 2026, Dow reported group revenue of around USD 10.9 billion, down from approximately USD 11.2 billion in the same period last year due to softer demand and higher input costs. However, management maintained its full-year 2026 guidance range for earnings and cash generation.
Analysts have emphasized that Dow's exposure to commodity petrochemicals and energy prices is a key risk factor, particularly with Brent crude futures recently moving near the USD 100 per barrel mark.
