Dreamforce 2026: Salesforce Pushes Ahead with AI Agent Governance and Development
The annual Dreamforce conference has kicked off in San Francisco, with Salesforce emphasizing AI agent governance and development as key themes. The company has unveiled several new technologies, including AIforce, a management layer and toolkit for Headless 360, and Slackforce, which combines Slackbot with the feature called Slackforce Surfaces.
The latter enables richer app development within the platform. Salesforce also announced Claudeforce, a collaboration between the company and Anthropic that makes hundreds of features available to users of Claude, a large language model. This integration will allow for more seamless interaction between the two platforms.
Scott White, head of enterprise product at Anthropic, noted that the transition to agentic AI has begun for many frontline workers, who now interact with software through agents rather than directly using it themselves. However, he emphasized that partnerships like Salesforce and Anthropic's are crucial in merging business understanding and data access guardrails with the capabilities of agentic AI.
According to White, agents will soon be able to break down abstract business goals into work across multiple systems, enabling them to accomplish higher-order objectives. This will give time back to employees and allow them to focus on more ambitious tasks, such as building relationships with customers and bringing in new business.
