Druckenmiller Holds Firm on Taiwan Semiconductor Despite Trimmed Stake
Stanley Druckenmiller, a renowned investor with a track record of delivering 30% annualized returns at Duquesne Capital Management from 1981 to 2010, continues to hold a significant stake in Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing (TSM). Despite selling 47,805 shares in the first quarter of 2026, his remaining position is worth $167 million and remains the third-largest holding in the Duquesne Family Office portfolio.
The chip supplier's strong Q2 beat, with revenue climbing nearly 34% year over year, underscores why Druckenmiller still sees value in TSMC. High-performance computing (HPC) now accounts for 66% of total revenue, driven by demand for AI accelerators from major clients like Nvidia (NVDA +2.93%) and Advanced Micro Devices (AMD +1.78%).
Nvidia reported an impressive 85% year-over-year revenue growth in its fiscal first quarter, while AMD projects the AI accelerator market will reach $1.4 trillion by 2030.
