The Michigan Public Service Commission has approved special contracts between DTE Electric Co. and Google LLC to provide electricity for a data center in Wayne County's Van Buren Township.

According to the commission, these contracts will enable Google to power its data center with electricity from DTE Electric Co.

The MPSC announced the approval on Thursday, sharing details of the special contracts between the utility and the tech giant.
