Dubai Municipality Advances Asset Management with IBM Maximo Integration
Dubai Municipality has taken a significant step forward in managing its extensive asset portfolio by adopting IBM Maximo Application Suite 9.1. This move creates a unified platform that consolidates technical, financial, operational, and geospatial data for over 350,000 municipal assets, providing a comprehensive view throughout their lifecycle.
The integration connects asset information with various enterprise systems, including ERP, CRM, GIS, IoT technologies, and other operational platforms. This allows for more effective decision-making in maintenance, planning, investment, and lifecycle management. Dubai Municipality has been recognized by IBM as a pioneer government entity in the UAE for this adoption.
Eng. Nasser Hamed BuShehab, CEO of the Planning and Governance Sector at Dubai Municipality, highlighted that the adoption of IBM Maximo strengthens governance and decision-making across maintenance, investment, and planning. The platform supports asset information and lifecycle-related workflows, offering dashboards and performance indicators to monitor asset performance, maintenance activities, and operational requirements.
The integration of technical asset information with financial and operational data enhances alignment between asset management and financial planning. This enables better analysis of lifecycle costs, prioritization of investments, and budget allocation based on asset condition and performance. The platform also sets the stage for more proactive asset management using IoT, advanced analytics, and artificial intelligence.
