Dubai Offers 10-Year Golden Visa to Outstanding Educators
Dubai is extending its Golden Visa program to outstanding educators in the private education sector, offering a 10-year residency permit. The initiative, launched on World Teachers' Day in 2024, aims to recognize educators who have made significant contributions to the emirate's education landscape.
The Golden Visa is open to school principals, early childhood center managers, academic heads of higher education institutions, teachers, and senior administrative leaders. To qualify, applicants must meet specific criteria set by the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA). For example, principals must demonstrate improved school ratings and student outcomes, while teachers need nominations from their institution's board of governors and evidence of professional excellence.
The application process begins with a nomination from the educator's institution, followed by a review by an internal committee and KHDA. If approved, educators must proceed with the General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) to finalize their Golden Visa. The application window is open annually from mid-October to mid-December.
Since its launch, the program has received over 835 applications, highlighting the demand among educators for long-term residency in Dubai. The Golden Visa is valid for 10 years and renewable if the eligibility criteria continue to be met.
