NBA star Kevin Durant has made an astonishing profit from his investment in Hugging Face, thanks to Nvidia's $12.9 billion acquisition of the AI platform.

Durant invested a total of $250,000 ($100,000 in the seed round and $150,000 in Series A) in Hugging Face as early as 2017, when he tweeted that he was a 'proud investor' in the platform.

The acquisition has delivered a staggering 23,900% return on Durant's investment, making it one of the most lucrative athlete investments ever.

Durant is set to make $43.9 million for the 2026-2027 season and could receive an estimated $60 million payout following the acquisition, surpassing his NBA earnings of $501.1 million.
