Earnings and Jobs Reports to Dominate Wall Street Week
Wall Street is gearing up for a busy week ahead, with key corporate earnings and economic reports on tap. The latest batch of profit updates from big U.S. companies could help investors get a clearer picture of how households are spending money amid stubbornly high inflation.
The first major earnings report comes from Clorox and Marriott International, which will release their latest results on Monday. This is followed by reports from Elon Musk's SpaceX and McDonald's on Tuesday, with online travel company Expedia Group reporting its earnings on Wednesday.
More than half of the S&P 500 companies have already reported their latest results, showing strong profit growth. The question now is whether these rising stock values are justified.
The jobs market will also be under scrutiny this week, with key updates on job openings for June and the monthly employment report for July set to be released on Tuesday and Friday respectively.
