Eccho Rights Expands Disney Partnership with New Turkish Drama Deals
Eccho Rights has strengthened its partnership with The Walt Disney Company by securing two new licensing deals in Portugal and the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. The Turkish drama series Golden Boy (Yalı Çapkını) has been licensed to STAR Life Portugal, while My Home My Destiny (Doğduğun Ev Kaderindir) will be available on Disney+ across MENA.
Golden Boy, produced by OGM Pictures for Star TV, is a family drama and romance that follows a young heir whose life is upended by an arranged marriage. The show was a ratings success in Turkey and has gained international popularity. Meanwhile, My Home My Destiny, originally commissioned by TV8, explores themes of identity, belonging, and love, and has set multiple ratings records in Turkey. It has also been sold in over 150 territories worldwide.
The new deals follow Disney’s earlier acquisition of Everywhere I Go and My Sweet Lie for STAR Life Portugal this year. For Eccho Rights, these agreements mark an expansion of their collaboration with Disney beyond a single platform and into a new regional market.
Melis Hamamcioglu, Director of Digital Media Acquisition & Content Sales at Eccho Rights, commented on the significance of the deals: To be expanding our relationship with The Walt Disney Company across two of their platforms and into a new region in the space of a few months is a real marker of where Turkish drama sits today in the international market.
