Egypt Seeks Expanded Chevron Exploration Amid Gas Supply Boost Hopes

Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly met with Chevron officials in New York to discuss expanding the company's exploration activities in Egypt. The meeting took place on the sidelines of his participation in the 81st session of the UN General Assembly. Madbouly expressed hope for continued cooperation between Egypt's petroleum sector and Chevron, citing the company's extensive experience and strong presence in the Eastern Mediterranean.

Madbouly highlighted Egypt's interest in expanding Chevron's exploration activities by leveraging government incentives and assessing areas that match the company's strategy and technical capabilities. He added that increased investment in drilling and exploration could help boost natural gas supplies to Egypt, with the government ready to provide necessary support within governing rules and procedures.

Chevron officials emphasized the importance of their investments in Egypt and expressed interest in expanding activities in the country and the wider Eastern Mediterranean.
