Emirates Takes First Boeing 777-9 from Factory
Emirates has taken another step closer to welcoming the Boeing 777-9 into its fleet, with the first aircraft destined for the Dubai carrier rolling out of the factory in Washington State.
The brand new aircraft is currently undergoing a paint process and will emerge in full Emirates livery after several weeks. The rollout marks a significant milestone for a programme that has been plagued by delays, with delivery expected in May or June 2027.
Emirates holds the largest order for the 777X, with 65 new aircraft valued at $38 billion at list prices. The airline has also rejected early build aircraft, citing modifications that make them too expensive to bring up to current standards.
The Boeing 777-9 features a large composite wing and GE9X engines, promising 20% less fuel burn and emissions compared to its predecessor.
