End-of-Month Rush: Use Up Statement Credits, Transfer Points, and Welcome Offers Before They Expire

With the end of the month fast approaching, cardholders can take advantage of various statement credits, transfer bonuses, and limited-time welcome offers to save money on travel expenses.

The American Express Platinum Card, for example, comes with up to $75 in quarterly Lululemon credit and up to $100 in quarterly Resy dining credit. These credits reset or expire at the end of the month, so it's essential to use them before they're gone.

Business Platinum Cardholders have just a few hotel credits to worry about: Up to $200 per calendar year for purchases at Hilton hotels and an up to $300 FHR credit. Some cardholders have reported getting these credits to work for dining purchases at restaurants inside Hilton hotels, but it's pretty hit-or-miss.

Transfer bonuses are another way to stretch your balance of points and miles further. The big banks routinely roll out bonuses of 10% to as much as 40% when transferring points to select airline or hotel partners. For example, with a 25% transfer bonus from American Express to Hilton Honors, you'd only need to transfer 40,000 points to get the 50,000 miles needed for an award ticket.

Some of the biggest and best bonuses are expiring at the end of the month or in the next few days. Cardholders should act quickly to take advantage of these offers before they're gone.
