Energy Sectors Lead Gains Amid Mixed US Stock Market Session
The US stock market experienced a mixed session on Monday, with three sectors rising while eight declined.
The Energy Select Sector SPDR Fund led the gains, increasing by 0.63%, driven by large-cap names such as Chevron Corp, ExxonMobil Holdings Corp, and EOG Resources Inc.
Consumer Staples and Health Care also showed resilience, with the Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR Fund rising by 0.35% and the Health Care Select Sector SPDR Fund increasing by 0.11%.
The major averages, however, were lower, with the State Street SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust down 0.81%, the Invesco QQQ Trust, Series 1 declining by 1.53%, and the State Street SPDR Dow Jones Industrial Average ETF Trust falling by 0.57%.
