ETH Zurich Unveils Swiss Quantum Innovation Hub with IBM and Lockheed Martin

The Swiss Quantum Innovation Hub is set to open at ETH Zurich, backed by IBM and Lockheed Martin. The new hub will host the country's first IBM Quantum System Two computer, located at the Swiss National Supercomputing Center in Lugano.

IBM will operate the computer, which features an IBM Quantum Nighthawk processor with 120 Qubits. ETH Zurich will provide expertise and resources to support Swiss industries, startups, and academia in developing new algorithms and industrial applications for quantum technology.

The Hub will focus on aerospace and defense applications, with two projects featuring Lockheed Martin's work on quantum sensing and additive manufacturing.
