Ethiopian Airlines has ordered ten Boeing aircraft to expand its cargo fleet, including eight next-generation Boeing 777-8 Freighters and two current-generation Boeing 777-200LRF Freighters.

The order marks a significant milestone for the airline as it becomes the first African carrier to purchase the new Boeing 777-8 Freighter. The agreement combines the current Boeing 777 Freighter with the next-generation Boeing 777-8 Freighter, allowing Ethiopian Airlines to add near-term capacity while planning for a newer generation of widebody cargo aircraft.

The eight Boeing 777-8 Freighters will be delivered between 2033 and 2035, while the two current-generation Boeing 777-200LRF Freighters are scheduled for delivery in 2027 and 2028. The addition of the new aircraft will provide Ethiopian Airlines with a next-generation freighter designed for long-range cargo operations.
