Ethiopian Airlines Places Order for 10 Boeing Aircraft
Ethiopian Airlines has made a significant move in its expansion plans by ordering 10 aircraft from Boeing. This includes eight Boeing 777-8F freighters and two Boeing 777F freighters, making it the first African airline to order the Boeing 777-8F.
The order follows Ethiopian Airlines' previous purchase of eight Boeing 777-9F aircraft. The Boeing 777-8F has a maximum payload capacity of 118 tonnes, offering the largest payload capacity and range in its class. This will enable the airline to develop new markets while reducing operating costs through lower fuel consumption.
Ethiopian Airlines currently operates a total of 18 dedicated freighters, connecting more than 70 destinations across Africa, Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and North America.
