Ethiopian Airlines Set to Ink Deal for 10 Boeing Freighters
Boeing is set to sign a deal with Ethiopian Airlines for 10 long-haul freighter aircraft, as part of the carrier's efforts to strengthen its cargo operations and expand its fleet. The agreement will combine current-generation Boeing 777F aircraft with the manufacturer's new-generation 777-8F freighters.
The planned transaction is expected to be signed on Wednesday, with a banner at the signing ceremony venue confirming the deal. Ethiopian Airlines, Africa's largest airline group, has been expanding its cargo network as international freight demand continues to grow.
The Boeing 777F offers long-range cargo capability and a large payload, making it suitable for Ethiopian Airlines' extensive international network. The planned combination of 777F and 777-8F aircraft will provide the airline with additional capacity while transitioning towards Boeing's next-generation freighter technology.
