ETHS District Passes Balanced Budget for 20th Consecutive Year

The Evanston Township High School District 202 Board of Education has approved a final budget of $118.5 million for the 2026-2027 school year, marking the 20th consecutive year the district has passed a balanced budget.

The total represents a 0.02% increase over last year's budget, with changes to revenue and expenses contributing to the slight uptick.

The district's Chief Financial Officer, Kendra Williams, noted that staff salaries will see a 0.33% increase from the previous school year, while benefits will rise by 10.5%, significantly higher than the average annual increase of 7.1% over the past four years.

In addition to the budget approval, the board also unanimously approved a contract with energy company Honeywell for a solar panel installation and mechanical system upgrades.
