EVA Air Expands SAF Deal with AIT, Microsoft to Reduce Carbon Footprint

EVA Air has expanded its Green Transportation Program with AIT Worldwide Logistics to supply Microsoft with approximately 15,000 metric tonnes of CO₂e in Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) environmental attributes over the next year. This partnership is part of EVA Air's broader effort to accelerate lower-carbon air transportation and support corporate customers' Scope 3 decarbonization goals.

The SAF will be produced by Formosa Petrochemical Corporation (FPCC) from used cooking oil, certified under the International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC) system. The associated SAF environmental attributes will be issued and retired through the ISCC Credit Transfer System (CTS), enabling Microsoft to account for the resulting Scope 3 emissions reductions.

EVA Air President Clay Sun emphasized that achieving net-zero aviation requires collaboration across the entire value chain, from airlines and fuel suppliers to logistics providers and corporate customers. The partnership demonstrates that when customer demand is aligned with industry resources, it can accelerate the development of the SAF market.
