EVA Air Selects Acron Aviation's Virtual Flight Deck

EVA Air has chosen Acron Aviation's Virtual Flight Deck (VFD) to support its transition to competency-based training and assessment. The four Boeing 787 VFD units will provide a flexible and cost-effective way for pilots to develop their knowledge and confidence before progressing to higher-level training devices.

The VFD offers a complete, real-time simulation of the aircraft's systems and flight deck, allowing users to operate every panel, control, indicator, and display at their own pace. It also enables crews to explore aircraft systems, practice procedures, and repeat non-normal and emergency scenarios in a readily accessible environment.

The agreement further strengthens the long-standing relationship between EVA Air and Acron Aviation's Commercial Training Solutions (CTS). CTS has previously delivered three full flight simulators to EVA Air. David Coward, President at CTS, said: 'The Virtual Flight Deck is an important part of an integrated pilot training ecosystem.'
