Boeing has secured FAA certification for its 737-7 aircraft, marking a significant milestone in the company's pursuit of commercial service. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) approval comes after over three years of analysis and testing, which began in 2018.

The 737-7 underwent rigorous testing, including more than 1,000 hours of ground and flight evaluation. Boeing also updated the engine's anti-ice system to address an issue discovered during earlier flight tests.

With this certification, the 737-7 is now cleared for commercial use. Key features include a range of up to 3,800 nautical miles (10% more than other 737 MAX aircraft), 20% less CO2 emissions and fuel consumption, and a quieter noise footprint compared to similar planes.

Boeing Commercial Airplanes President Stephanie Pope praised the certification as 'a validation of our airplane's design' and acknowledged the dedication and resilience of the development team. Mike Sinnett, senior vice president of Product Strategy, emphasized that this certification will accelerate future airplane development with a renewed focus on human factors, safety, and quality.
