The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has certified Boeing's new 737 Max 7 jetliner for commercial flight after years of delays.

The certification is a major milestone for Boeing, which has faced significant challenges in recent years, including two crashes involving the larger Max 8 that killed 346 people in 2018 and 2019.

Since those incidents, the FAA has overhauled its certification process for Boeing aircraft, requiring additional testing, design changes, and a thorough review of safety systems.

As part of this process, Boeing was required to make several safety changes, including updating flight-control software, improving cockpit alerts for pilots, and redesigning the engine anti-ice system to prevent overheating.
