FAA Clears Software Glitch on Boeing 737 MAX, Paving Way for MAX 10 Certification

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has determined that a software glitch in some Boeing 737 MAX onboard computers does not pose a safety risk. The decision was made by an expert panel that met in Seattle on October 2.

The issue involves software that may temporarily limit pilots' access to the automated vertical navigation system during an unusual landing situation. However, the FAA stated that pilots retain full control of the aircraft, and the information on the crew's instruments remains clear and unambiguous.

The same software is also used on the Boeing 737 MAX 7, which was certified by the FAA in August. As a result, Southwest Airlines may be affected by this issue.
