FAA Cracks Down on Boeing After Door Blowout Incident
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has vowed to hold Boeing accountable and increase oversight after a door blowout incident on an Alaska Airlines Flight 1282. The incident occurred on January 5, when a panel used to plug an area reserved for an exit door on the Boeing 737 Max 9 jetliner blew out shortly after takeoff from Portland International Airport.
The plane was forced to return to the airport, and fortunately, no one was injured in the incident. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has launched an investigation into the matter.
