FAA Declares Boeing 737 Max Software Bug Not a Safety Concern
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has found that a software bug in Boeing's 737 Max 10 aircraft is not a safety concern.
The glitch, which can cause an automated navigation feature to fail when planes shift their approach to landing, was discovered during the certification process for the 737 Max 10.
According to the FAA, pilots retain full control of the aircraft and receive clear and unambiguous indications if the issue occurs. However, Boeing will send a bulletin to airlines detailing the issue and instructing employees on how to respond in case it happens.
The certification process for the 737 Max 10 has been delayed due to this issue, with FAA Administrator Bryan Bedford stating that 'we will be delaying the 10 until... we're satisfied we don't have an issue here.'
