FAA Declines Safety Concern Over Boeing 737 MAX Software Glitch
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has ruled that a software glitch in certain Boeing 737 MAX flight management computers is not a safety concern.
The issue, which affects vertical navigation guidance during a go-around, was first detected in Update 14.0 of the flight management software supplied by GE Aerospace.
According to the FAA's Corrective Action Review Board, pilots retain full control of the aircraft and the indications to the crew are clear and unambiguous.
Boeing will issue a bulletin explaining the issue and how pilots should respond, but no mandatory action is required from operators.
