FAA Delays Certification of Boeing 737 MAX 10 Over Software Issue

The US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has delayed certification of Boeing's 737 MAX 10, citing a software issue that affects some MAX aircraft. According to FAA Administrator Bryan Bedford, the regulator will not approve the MAX 10 until it is certain that the problem does not exist.

The issue arose when pilots may lose access to the automated flight control system in a certain landing scenario. However, Bedford emphasized that crews retain control of the aircraft.

GE Aerospace is the software supplier involved in this matter. While a fix could be prepared relatively quickly, it's unclear whether it will take days, weeks, or months. Boeing stated that it would continue to act in accordance with FAA guidance during the certification process.
